CBN Distillate originates from federally compliant hemp that is further refined and purified into a liquid form of a highly concentrated CBN cannabinoid with trace amounts of other cannabinoids.
CBN Distillate is ideally suited for formulations requiring compliant CBN as the stand-alone cannabinoid or integrating with other cannabinoids, such as CBD and CBG. As a liquid form, CBN Distillate is easily infused into consumer CBN oil related products such as tinctures, topicals, ingestibles, vapes and other oil soluble end-products.

Bulk CBN Distillate Manufactured Through Science, Technology and Engineering
Cannabinol (CBN) is a highly sought-after cannabinoid and one that has been difficult to produce in bulk quantities, until recently.
Traditionally, the CBN cannabinoid has been manufactured through the degradation of THC once it is exposed to heat, air and/or light. Conversely, our manufacturing process is the result of dedicated scientific research and engineering prowess to find alternatives to relying solely on the oxidation of THC. We manufacture our CBN oil in a more controlled, intentional manner with the ability to scale-up to fulfill an increasing demand for bulk CBN Distillate, all without sacrificing quality or potency.
CBN Distillate FAQs
CBN or cannabinol is a cannabinoid that is naturally occurring in the cannabis Sativa L plant after THC is oxidized through exposure to air, heat and/or light. Other scientific methods have been developed for a more controlled, efficient extraction of CBN without relying on the degradation of THC. However produced, CBN being its own unique cannabinoid, is currently being studied for its exceptional properties and benefits, thus becoming a cannabinoid of great interest.
Originating from federally compliant hemp, cannabinoid-rich crude oil is heated and vaporized through the process of distillation to produce a highly concentrated liquid. Further processing and refinement methods developed by Red Mesa produces a highly potent compliant CBN Distillate raw ingredient.
CBN is not a form of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), but rather converted to CBN naturally from the oxidation of THC, becoming a distinct cannabinoid of its own with unique properties and effects. However, since CBN can be derived from either hemp or marijuana, the associated levels of THC can differ. Hemp-derived CBN must remain at or below the legal 0.3% THC level to be considered non-intoxicating, whereas marijuana-derived CBN can contain higher levels of THC.
Conversely, innovative refinement methods have enabled the production of CBN Distillate, producing a high-quality compliant CBN oil without requiring the degradation of THC.
According to the various jurisdictions and specific laws governing cannabis, the legality of CBN can vary. CBN is derived from Cannabis Sativa L and depending on whether it is hemp-derived or marijuana-derived, the associated level of THC can differ. Marijuana-derived CBN can be associated with a higher level of THC and can be held to stricter regulations as compared to hemp-derived CBN that must remain within the legal definition of industrial hemp, ≤ 0.3% THC. To ensure legal compliance, it is best to consult with your local government officials or legal professionals who are familiar with the local laws.
CBN Distillate and CBG Distillate are each refined into highly purified concentrated forms of cannabinoids unique to each, CBN and CBG respectively.
CBN or cannabinol is typically derived from the oxidation of THC, becoming a cannabinoid of its own with distinct properties and effects that differ from THC. CBG or cannabigerol is usually considered a minor cannabinoid due to its scarcity within the hemp plant, unless extracted from CBG-rich biomass. CBG is considered to be the “Mother of all cannabinoids” because it is the precursor to other cannabinoids through the biosynthesis process.
Both CBN Distillate and CBG Distillate are liquid forms and are produced to yield the highest concentration of the targeted cannabinoid (CBN or CBG), but can also contain other cannabinoids as well, such as CBD, CBC, CBT, etc. Each is revered for its unique benefits and easily integrated into end-product formulations, such as tinctures, tropicals, ingestibles, softgels, capsules, vapes, cosmetics, skincare, etc.
