Due to its unique chemical properties, THCV requires specific handling protocols to preserve its stability,
potency and appearance.
THCV will be shipped in an opaque Nalgene airtight container purged with an inert gas. Refrigerate or freeze upon receipt and avoid opening the container until ready for use.
• Control the environment by using opaque containers and maintaining cool storage temperatures, avoiding temperatures above 65°C.
• Use inert gas purging during packaging, resealing and storage to limit exposure ot oxygen.
• Gently crush THCV; do not grind or scrape THCV with any tools as this will increase the surface area, prompting further oxidation and color change.
• Incorporate promptly into the formulation to prevent degradation before the final product is manufactured.
Note: THCV will react to oxygen exposure by turning purple on the surface. However, if protected from air and higher temperatures, it will remain a yellowish-amber color with a sticky, hard consistency. Stored correctly, once incorporated into a medium such as a carrier oil, or a gummy, vape or tincture, THCV is significantly safeguarded from oxidation with little to no impact on your final product’s color.
